Nagi is very techno-savvy (hence the username) as a hacker, programmer, and researcher. Of course, this was as of 1999 - in Japan using a secret society's uber-rich resources, but 1999 nonetheless. Basically he'd look into Dreamberry tech as soon as possible.
More of a note, but I do my best with these older canons to stick to canon and not fanon. I've noticed that many so-called canonical elements get integrated so often into characterizations these days purely because the fandom has had so long to attempt to fill in the plot holes. Weiss Kreuz has a notorious swiss cheese plot, so it seems like it's suffered even more than other series of similar age.
For example, I can't imagine that Nagi didn't learn at least some German between all of his time spent out there, but it's not canon and in general not worth bothering in an RP setting anyway.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Honestly it's Kieran's fault. I used to play Nagi awhile back with a fabulous cast and just haven't found a new game where he was the leading muse drawing me there. He's such a reclusive muse that I have to be picky. Today (12/2) Kieran mentioned that Sasuke used to know Nagi in Somarium; I knew a little about Somarium through Vatheon, but I hadn't been drawn to the game myself because I'd been thinking of a few other prominent muses at the time.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] No god-modding. This rule is so critical to me, playing an antagonistic character. I always respect that RP-wide rule when plotting something serious that Nagi would do. Yet, I was personally targeted by another Protag player once upon a time when I played Nagi - they painted me into a no-win situation by god-modding not just Nagi but me as a player. I have never forgotten how that affected my playing, nor how angry I was about how it was handled, so I never want anyone else to feel that way.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] I think I first heard about it from some Edensphere players when we were talking about similar-but-different games, but that was over 2 years ago.
[Any questions?] Nope don't think so. Hopefully you trust me to limit Nagi's telekinetics severely at first, but let him grow back into them.

Canon: The protagonists of Weiss Kreuz are four vigilante assassins - in a group called Weiss - who only mark people too powerful to be caught by the normal channels of law & order. Naoe Nagi is not one of them. He is a member of Schwarz, the primary antagonists of the series. Schwarz's four members - Brad Crawford, Schuldich, Farfarello, and Naoe Nagi - were plucked from their former lives so that the limits of their powers could be tested. All four have mutant powers a la X-Men, and Nagi's is telekinesis with the potential for telepathy (later in canon). They were used like pawns by the group Eszett for their new-age-of-humanity-domination plans, and didn't take kindly to it. After some serious plotting and playing Weiss like a fiddle, they managed to kill their three primary oppressors and make their escape. Schwarz went on to basically hide in plain sight until the point I'm pulling Nagi from.
Some people believe that Nagi's age, as well as his crush on the female assassin Töt, makes him the most "innocent" member of Schwarz. The series makes clear that Nagi is just as capable of cruelty as the others - he is simply more calculating about it. He can and has broken bones with his telepathy; brought down a brick and mortar warehouse on top of live people; and he even killed his own mother. He treats talking like a hassle and being around "mundanes" (normal humans) tries his patience. He demands a wide berth of personal space due to being tormented as a child - including by said mother, well before Eszett came along - and is thus also loathe to trust anyone outside of Schwarz. A demonstration of superior power is, however, enough for him to go along with a plan until it's endangers his own well-being.
Nagi is still a 15 year old boy, of the insular party-pooper variety. He has decent hacking skills and utilizes his telekinesis where he can. This includes typing on the computer with it instead of his fingers, making him very lazy, very pretentious, or equal amounts of both, take your pick. Occasionally, he has emotional outbursts so intense that his powers run rampant as a result - for example, the aforementioned warehouse being torn down.

Too ripe. A statement, not of disappointment, but of fact.
Slowly, the orange floated back down into the pile. Nagi stared dismissively at the rest of them for awhile before selecting another one. That one. Without lifting a finger from the tray in his hands, the orange floated up in a slow arc onto his tray.
"GET MOVING!"
"STOP HOLDING UP THE LINE!"
Nagi glared back at those shouting at him, but didn't say a word - Noisy insects. - out loud, anyway. He let his hands fall to his side and into his pockets while the tray remained levitating in front of him.
He took stock of the situation with cool calculation - as if it wouldn't actually affect him, but rather someone else. There won't be a single quiet place in this whole building. Eating elsewhere is the best recourse-
Someone snatched the orange right off his tray. Nagi stopped immediately. "Put it back," he ordered flatly.
"And if I don't?" The orange started to float up again under Nagi's power, but the bratty young man held on defiantly.
"You would do well to listen next time," Nagi said with the barest hint of scolding in his voice. With that, the orange rocketed towards the nearest window, the man in tow. Both crashed through the window and Nagi didn't even bother to watch.
As the room went silent, another orange slowly drifted towards Nagi and onto his plate. His expression was the same as when he'd entered: completely disinterested. Leaving the building, he didn't spare the man or the other orange a second thought. There is still about an hour before the meeting with Schuldig...
/If that bothered you, you won't survive long here at camp./
Nagi stopped, but didn't look for who was addressing him; it wasn't Schuldig - that was all he needed to know. /Then you don't know me very well - that wasn't being bothered./
/Ruffled feathers, then./ The remark was accompanied by the very sound of feathers ruffling. Or over-reacting. Not worth the effort you exerted./
/There was little effort involved,/ Nagi corrected.
/You're not even wondering who's talking to you./
/Telepathic communication is not a skill developed by mundane beings. That makes this conversation worth having - for a few more minutes anyway./
/Oh, right, Schuldig./ With that, the toucan descended to a stump just off of the path Nagi had been walking. /I take it you two talk often like this./
/It is the preferred method among within our group./
/Good to know./ And the toucan spread its wings. /I guess we'll just have to find some other way of... getting under your skin, haha!/

BACKGROUND: Nagi is best described as 'quiet' - not inactive, because he does tend to keep busy, but acts like speaking isn't worth his effort and would rather communicate in short-wave telepathy, which is probably completely nullified and will be thoroughly annoying to him, meaning he will probably use the Journal a lot. His other ability is telekinesis, which will probably be limited to objects he could normally have picked up by himself were he so motivated (like, the pen to write in the Journal).
Admittedly, he's a bit of a doormat due to being tormented for his powers as a child (going so far as to kill his own mother), but is definitely choosy about who he takes orders from (ex: not mother) - he'll listen to anybody who can demonstrate superior power, or is persuasive enough to convince him it's in his own benefit. However, he is coming out of a major battle against his rival assassin team, Weiss, in which his superiors from Estet almost certainly died - so he's not likely to be very trustworthy any time soon, but then again, he's emotionally stunted in a number of ways, never having had friends to speak of.
It takes some prodding, but he can actually be motivated to accomplish things, especially if someone from Schwarz is also in on it. He is an assassin, in the end, after all.

The bright light made Nagi blink. Had he managed to fall asleep at his computer and was now staring blearily at the screen? No, his computer's brightness setting didn't go this high, he'd tried before... this must be natural light. And that meant Schuldig came into his bedroom early and opened his curtains without his permission. That man and his pranks.
And he took the sheets with him? No, this floor felt like wood... did he get dropped out of bed? Nagi's eyes finally adjusted and he found himself on the floor of a ship. 'Schuldig, your illusion is not amusing this early in the morning. If you are sincerely that bored, go bother Crawford or Weiss.'
It wasn't strange that Schuldig didn't reply, but what was strange was that Nagi could tell immediately those thoughts hadn't gone beyond the limits of his own mind - Schuldig had not received them. With that knowledge, Nagi now assumed he was being held captive by a much more powerful empath than even Schuldig.
He caught the vestiges of words from above him and saw a wooden ceiling suddenly open up. THAT light was thoroughly blinding. Finally, he did catch the words but realized they most definitely were not Japanese. It sounded like Crawford, sort of, so it was probably English.
Nagi sighed. So he had been captured. Probably in his sleep. That was something Schwarz would have done. He applauded his captors methodology, but this wouldn't do at all. The first thing he'd have to do would be to locate the other Schwarz members - if an empath really had captured him, he was certain that only those 3 were going to be able to help him get out.

Wasn't he the one who'd needed all of the reassurance all of the time? Needed sense slapped into him? What had happened in the time the sun had set? It felt like an eternity now...
Granted, Schuldig had just hefted Crawford down the stairs, but what had sapped his strength? Was it the blood loss? Then what about his speech? What had--
Nagi had reached out to touch Schuldig on the shoulder and literally reeled, never expecting...
Schuldig was proud of him? Thought of them all as friends? Was scared absolutely shitless not because of any threat to his own life... It was Crawford; Schuldig absolutely was worried about nothing more than Crawford's own life right now. And that fear was tinged with... something Nagi was rather familiar with; something Nagi had tried to forget he'd ever felt, at Crawford's own request.
How the hell had Schuldig managed to keep all of that locked up? It must have been why Nagi had been privvy to it just now; Schuldig was such a wreck and, being a telepath, he was an open book and broadcasting everything right now.
It was a very sobering thing to behold, that was for sure, and at first Nagi had absolutely no idea what to do with that knowledge. He decided to let Farfarello handle Crawford, he'd try to make sure that Schuldig at least made it back to base in one peice... physically and mentally.
'Schuldig... Schuldig, we need to keep moving. Walk. Farfarello has him. Walk,' Nagi encouraged. Schu had said he'd missed Nagi's magic fingers, so he tried to dredge up what he could; a gentle push to the back of his head, a gentle press to the hollow of his skull, anything to keep Schuldig functioning so that they didn't have another Schwarz member to carry home.

Mar. 7th, 2008 02:39 pmWhen was the last time Nagi'd held a weapon? He couldn't remember; Crawford hadn't let him have a fallback option like a true weapon. He'd been pushed and pushed to hone his abilities for so long that never once in the time he'd been with Schwarz had he been given an option of fighting in melee; that wasn't his position in the team. His job had always been to stand back, operate from a distance - thus his preference for wide-open spaces - yet he held the weapon in his hands, realizing the severity of the situation by the very fact that he was clutching the dagger, having pulled it the distance from Farfarello to himself without even realizing it.
Nagi's head jerked upwards as Schuldig's voice roared in his mind and he could only assume that 'we' meant Crawford had found Schuldig. It sounded like Schuldig finally meant business; it sounded like Crawford's condition hadn't improved; and it sounded like Farfarello's fun was over for the evening.
He turned around, back to the mass of guards that finally given up on attacking him and were just running away, rather like the mass of mundanes he was now facing.
Nagi had a preference for open spaces and right now that was exactly what Schuldig and Crawford were in need of. He was so exhausted, but he held the dagger out in front of him anyway; the directional focus would help. He held it straight out in front of him in his left hand, right palm flat against the blade so it was parallel with the walls. If he wasn't careful, the strain on his wrists would make it so he'd never type on a computer again.
He let loose everything - everything he had left and more because that was what he needed to get these stupid mundanes out of the way, against the walls yet still running, so his teammates could get out of that damned Queen's castle.
His powers flared out in a reverse cone, the point aimed directly at where Schuldig's voice had come from, and he yelled again, this time in his mind in the hopes Schuldig would hear it.
'GO!'

Mar. 7th, 2008 12:58 pmThe familar Berserker scream made Nagi breath a sigh of relief. Two shrubs came out of the ground and he threw each one against any nearby guards he could find, sending them spiraling towards Farfarello's knives.
That's when he started seeing double, like back at the temple. Nagi dropped to a knee, the shrubs falling out of the air. He was nearing his limit; he'd expended too much energy drawing on the very depths of his Talent in too short a period of time. He'd closed his eyes again, trying to get his bearings back, but realized when he'd opened them that more guards were coming - one much farther ahead of the pack, spear raised high.
Nagi saw it coming just in time to hold the man at bay; he actually relished the look on the man's face as the guard strained to pierce the mere boy that had dared attack their castle.
"Who- what are you people?!" The man demanded.
How ironic, Nagi chuckled to himself and thus responded with the most ironic answer he could come up with. "Schwarz."
"Now..." Nagi's eyes lit up again. "Away." He sent a rippling shock of energy coursing through the ground, enough to throw the handful of guards closing in on him backwards and towards Farfarello. It even managed to disorient some of the guards farther away, making them try to catch their balance.
Back on his feet, Nagi resigned himself to that being the most effective use of his powers right now - short bursts to keep the guards away from the entrance and literally shaken to their bones. He only hoped that whatever Crawford and Cross planned on doing succeeded soon; the few spears that the guards were managing to throw were getting awfully close to his face now.
